Wow! We are half way through our course and I have learnt so much! There has been so many new technologies that I have learnt about because I have never heard of them! I usually only stick to the technologies that are familar to most of us because it's easy to find someone who already knows about it or know how to use it! There were a few other things that I needed to refresh my mind on using particular softwares that we use daily because it had been so long since I last used it!
At the beginning of the course, when I learnt that assessment two is about technology in the classroom and doing heaps of reflections in our blogs and learning that we need to write 1600 words on technology in the classroom, that didn't include the blogs! I thought, how am I going to write 1600 words! But as the week went by and I learnt a little more about different technologies, I realised that I would be okay because there would be plenty of information available for me to look back particularly in my blogs and know that I would be okay with writing 1600 words on technologies in the classroom! After all, I have recently started a new job at a primary school as a teacher aide and I am learning a lot with how teachers are using technology in the classroom!
Good luck with assessment 2!

Legal and safe ethical guidelines
It's important that students have legal and safe guidelines when using ICT, especially when using something off the internet. Students don't understand the meaning of the guidelines unless teachers are able to teach them the legal and safe guidelines before allowing them to use the internet. It's important to ensure teachers are able to be role models of teaching when using technology, that teachers follow the guidelines like students would need to.
There are a lot of risks for students using the internet and teachers need to ensure we cover those areas so students understand the meaning of these guidelines being put into place and keeping our students safe.
There are two main areas where students should have guidelines;
Teachers need to ensure that we are checking that students are using technology appropriately and aren't breaching the guidelines of using the internet. Teachers also need to ensure they are following the guidelines as well when using different materials when teaching.

Google Earth
Google Earth is a great resource that can be used in many subjects where students can expand their skills through literacy and numeracy. Teachers are able to teach the students about the world by exploring different countries and zooming in and seeing what things they can see while looking through the google earth.
Students and teachers can create a map using the google earth by placing different objects on the map and linking it to places in the area that they are working on. Google maps are more in depth where they can see the street names and the exact buildings in the street where google earth is very frustrating where students and teachers need to do a lot of work with zooming in to see the town and the features in the town itself.
Both google earth and maps can be uploaded onto other websites to continue teaching on a particular page such as blogs or wikis. Students are able to do this as well with their assessments or homework.

Dipity Timeline
Dipity would be a great tool where students and teachers can create a timeline for a particular subject. Timelines are a great way of sharing information about history and showing it through technology in the classroom is a great way where students would be interested and wanting to know how to develop timelines.
Students can learn how to develop timelines with the information they have for assessments or project charts. Dipity is straightforward and has limited training on how to use the program. The dipity tool is clear to see and learn from for both students and teachers. Dipity has the options of creating a different background on the timeline and adding additional information and images to the timeline that would make the timeline more interesting to learn.
Dipity can be used in many subjects that has lots of information where you can create a timeline! It can changed or updated as you go along with creating the timeline.

I enjoyed creating my page on glogster as there were so many to look at to create a page that would be interesting to use in a classroom. It was time consuming but I think once you know what you want and where to find it, using glogster will be easy!
I think glogster will take over powerpoint and prezi completely because it is very creative! It's a place where you can put a lot of information and add images, videos, audio to the page where students can learn! Glogster is almost having an online class where every student (who has an account) can participate in the website and learn like they would in a proper classroom! It's a great tool for students, once again, can create a poster of something they are learning. Glogster is a great place where students and teachers can possibly add all the technology tools onto this page!

Prezi
I found it not useful so I am not sure how it could be useful in the classroom. I thought I give it a go, trying out all the different tools on prezi to create a presentation on 'Bart Simpson". Not a great choice but is related to school as it includes the blackboard which technology is slowly taking over the blackboard and chalk. I think prezi is similar to powerpoint but only using a page to add a lesson on there. I notice you can zoom in and out on the page to make things smaller or larger, a great thing to use in the classroom to see who is following through with the presentation.
Prezi would be a great technology tool for the classroom where both teachers and students can create a poster or chart of some sort that can help students learn about a particular subject. Prezi is a tool that is created online and all students who has an account on prezi can view it. Prezi is creative in many ways where you can change the colour of the background and add different pictures onto the page. Prezi is a great tool that can be used for anything that develop information on a particular subject, you can create anything on prezi!

Powerpoint
I love using powerpoint as it's easy and a great way to be creative by changing the design, text, adding images, audio, movies! Above is my presentation I created on on powerpoint. I focus on what children love, disney characters! But what they may not know is how it has changed over the years so the presentation is based on comparing the differences and similaries of disney characters from 19th century to 21st century.
I think using powerpoint is a great way for students to learn. Powerpoints can create different ways for children to learn particularly if every student has a different learning style to learn! If teachers use the powerpoint correctly then students are willing to learn! It's a great way to create your class lesson on the powerpoint by adding as much information as you can, whether it's through text, images, audio or videos. Students are willing to read and listen if the powerpoint presentation is set out correctly with lots of colours, different technology tools (images, audio).
Blackboards are boring which teachers and students do find it boring because no one learns. Using the powerpoint where it's displayed on a whiteboard using the projector, teachers will have students full attention throughout the whole class. There is more interaction with the students as to help them learn and expand on information that has been discussed among the group. Powerpoints is a great way for students to create their oral presentation for an assessment or another way to start up a worksheet (for teachers to create and students to complete) where it is more interesting and inviting for students to want to complete the task.
The only downside of using powerpoints especially in the classroom, is that it's time consuming, the teacher will be clicking away! Students may miss out on the information if they are slow readers or writers.Again, textbooks are thrown out because the teacher has analysed the book with powerpoint presentation. Limited literacy skills are improved as powerpoint is formed in dot points rather then sentences so students and teachers will be talking in short sentences rather then whole sentence.
I think if powerpoint presentations is used appropriately and students has the full information of the particular subject and students are still encouraged to do extra work (using textbooks) I believe it would be a great advantage to use powerpoint in the classroom.

Digital Video
I loved creating a movie!! It would be something that students would love to see a lot in the classroom. It would invite them to learn and expand from the information in the movie. It would be a great opportunity for students and teachers to have a play around! It's a great technology for students and teachers to access to where they can create their learning in a movie!
It's another way for students to learn by watching a movie of some kind that will allow them to learn more about the particular subject. It's a great communication tool for teachers to use instead of having a whole class lesson, this would be available for students to listen to when they feel ready to listen to at a deadline. (teacher may want an discussion with the class about the particular movie so a deadline may be set).
Using digital video is a great way to set up classroom particularly over the internet or linking it to a blog where students still have the ability to learn with or without the teacher being present. Digital video is another option for home schooling or students who live out in the country and have no access to a classroom or teacher where they can attend to learn. For students who may have missed the class for a particular reason and the class being recorded on video, they have the opportunity to watch it due to teacher linking it to an email or website. Digital videos may be a great way to record a play that has been done by students and having the backup of the video, students can look back to help expand their learning or discussion within the class.
I used the movie maker on the computer. Windows Live Movie Maker, and it was very easy to use. There are different things you can do to be creative and make it interesting! You can add images, music, text or include your own voice to make the movie. There are so many you can do it create your movie. The more interesting you make it, the more the students would watch and learn about a particular subject!

Podcast
My Link to the podcast link http://nay-19au.podomatic.com/entry/2011-07-30T21_30_34-07_00
After doing some research on what podcast is and how it can be useful in the classroom. I didn't really like the information I read about podcast. I learnt that podcast will be another useful technology tool for students to use. Teachers might not like the idea of using podcast as it's almost like running a radio station in the classroom but it is something that students might use outside the classroom! Podcasting is a option where teachers and students can record a story or a page from the book where it's recorded and can be listened to. Podcasting is another option where the class can be recorded as 'notes' and can be listened to at a later date where they can look back and help with their learning for exams or assessments.
While researching about podcast, I found some information about how teachers and students can use podcast, how they can improve their skills. Interesting, with what they came up with! It's interesting to see that you can add different things to the podcast after recording the audio. You can add photos! I didn't have a go at adding photos because I felt nerve wrecked with the finished audio podcast afterwards!
I haven't used podcast before although I use Itunes a lot and I often see podcast on itunes and the ipod. I needed a run through with how to use the podcast. I went into itunes and found a few to listen to but there wasn't anything about how to record your own audio! I went through moodles and I noticed there was an tutorial on how to use podomatic software. I found it very useful. It was very straight forward and nerve wrecking to hear the sound of my voice or watching how high the voice wave go!

I had a lot of fun creating my voki person. It's a great way to be creative and use your imagination of the particular person. The voki person you have created, you have many options on how you can create the voice regarding the information you wish to speak about. You have the option of using your own voice or using a voice created on voki but you text what you wish to be said! It's a great way to put something different on a website for the students to listen to that will show them another way of learning!
Using voki in the classroom, is probably a great way to introduce yourself to the class or introducing what the lesson or assessment will be about. It's a great way for students who are shy, to be creative and have different voice from another country. It's possibly another great way for students to attempt learning another language through voki. I believe voki isn't a useful tool to use in the classroom very much.

Reflection: Technology in Classroom
Technology is always going to change because there is always going to be something better and bigger to add to the long list of technology. But little did we know, or should I say digital natives knew this would happen but digital immigrant didn't see the light of technology hitting the classroom, but I always knew computers and mobile phones would somehow be placed in the classroom but not wiping out the blackboard and books!
Using technology in the classroom would be a great opportunity for the students to help teach the teacher, yes you heard right, about how to tackle the challenge of using technology. Teachers may tackle lots of training in using technology but I believe there will be some day where teachers will shake their head and not know what they have done. Students come to the rescue!
I believe students will tackle learning a lot more if technology is used in the classroom because technology is all about being creative and using as many digital tools as they possibility can to encourage the children to learn! Students aren't going to want to do a lot of reading from the blackboard, they prefer to talk! Depending on the individual, the teacher needs to use different learning styles to have the class interested in the subject that is being taught.
The one thing that does concern me the most is, what happens when the electricity and back up battery on Ipads, computers, etc is out? How do teachers continue to teach the class without too many distractions from the students of saying "Oh, but I wanted to listen to that discussion" or "I was looking at the diagram." That is one thing that is needed to be taken into consideration when using technology in the classroom.
I do believe there would need to be guidelines as to how the students use the mobile phones or Ipad in the classroom but I believe it would be a win win situation with students and teachers using different technology in the classroom to learn.
So from generation to generation our classroom is changing, (Baby boomers-small blackboards; Gen x-blackboards and books; Gen y-Books and technology; Gen z-technology!).How will it be in the next generation? Classroom on the internet?? Who knows!

Uploading photos
My Flickr Photo Upload
Flickr is like facebook, except you are just using it to upload your photos. It's an online photo organisation where anyone can have an account to access to the photos on Flickr. However, you have the option to allow who sees the photos that is uploaded on your photo organisation account. You have the option for your photos to be private where only a percentage of people see it or you allow everyone to see the photos that is uploaded. It would be great for parents to download photos to see what their child has been learning in the classroom or have participated in an extra curriculum activity in the school. It's also another option to make newsletter of the class about what they have been learning or a good way to do an assignment where they are able to take photos and learn how to change the photos to make it suitable for their assignment.
Flickr, like many websites, you have the option to add an caption that tells the story of the photo. The photo itself, may tell a story but it's not as good as the person who owns the photo can be the storyteller of that particular photo. I notice on Flickr there is another tool you can use to display the photos which is a great tool for displaying it in the classroom for the students. Instead of using powerpoint which is very time wasting, you can use Flickr to create a slideshow for your photos.
As may have you noticed, the bottom photo is purple. I used the Mobaphoto software where you can change the photos as you wish, colour or size!. I thought I have a go and see what the outcome of few photos I played with and it was interesting although it's something that I wouldn't recommend for all photos to be played with, to be a little creative!
Picnik was a lot of fun! It's a great way to be creative with your photo by adding different things to the original photo. It's like scrapbooking or doing a photo collage which would be great for an assignment! Once finished with the creation of the photo, you have the option to place your photo onto another website, again as your wish for people you like them to see the photo. Great for learning in the classroom, seeing before and after photos.

Word Cloud
Word cloud is another way to find a definition of a word without using the dictionary. The students work together to find out what they think a particular word or subject means to them. They are being creative by brainstorming different words as a group to understand the word or subject. Using different word clouds, students have the ability to create different shapes and colours using the words that they develop in their brainstorming session.
I absolutely loved using the word cloud. It is so much fun and great to be creative. There is no right or wrong word to put in the word cloud especially if you're focusing on a particular subject. Every word goes in there somehow! I tried using all the links on word cloud which can be found in wiki but I like this as it's fast and creative. It would be great for students to learn from the word cloud because they can see the words there but not know what the subject is about exactly.
It's an great way for a small group to work together to jot down some words that relates to a particular subject and create it into a word cloud. A tool where they are able to work in groups or individually where they can improve their literacy skills by developing new words. Word cloud is a little difficult but it's good to have some time to play around and see what students can create using the word cloud which would be excellent to use for an assignment or brainstorming on particular subject.

'My frustration on technology' reflection
I am a week off from doing my first assessment and I think I will do okay because the written side of things, I cruise through it but when it comes to the practical side, I get frustrated! I have been trying to put few videos from youtube onto my blog and I am having no success whatsoever! I was successful once, well early on in the peace but since then I have forgotten how to do it! Why isn't every website simple like facebook?? I mean, I'm a whiz at facebook!! How is everyone doing with linking you tube to their blogs and wikis?! Any advice would be greatly apprepricated :)
Wow, 4 weeks have gone by and I have learnt a lot. I have come to realise that technology will soon become a part of the everyday learning class and I am brave to learn everything. I have grown up with technology because it's something I have always loved using! But being in a classroom with a computer is well, let's say strange. I have grown up with the blackboard and white chalk so is that going to walk out of the classroom altogether? Interesting especially when the baby boomers have lack of experience in technology, I guess we are all going to be learning something on a daily basic. But isn't what life is about, learning something new. Good luck for assessment 1 :)

"Maximise the Power of your Brain"
Mind Maps
The readings I did on mind maps from the moodle and following the links of two mind map tools http://www.text2mindmap.com and https://www.bubbl.us/ I didn't find many useful information about what mind maps are really about. I decided to do extra research on the topic which I found useful.
Mind maps are a tool that helps you think and learn. You focus on a particular subject and slowly you brainstorm the subject by adding words and branches to the middle or main word. Mind map is a diagram that is useful for students to understand ways of brainstorming as a group. Mind map is a tool that helps student expand their knowledge by adding old or new information into the map relating to the particular subject.
The mind map tools are filled with colours, shapes and words that link up together into a tree. It makes the mind map activity more exciting and interesting because it isn't dull. The mind map makes learning more exciting and using diagrams that is bright and colourful, students would find it more inviting and wanting to learn about the particular subject. Mind map tools allow you to add different images to create the map more exciting and focus more on the particular subject other then what is around it, the words!
I found using the bubbl mind map, I found more exciting because you create your mind map very colourful, it was easy to access. Text2mind mind map, I found very dull and frustrating. Overall, both mind map tools were very time wasting. I would have preferred to have A3 paper and lots of colourful felt pens that would have allowed me to fast track my brainstorming activity and being able to focus more on the subject rather then wasting time with creating the mind map digitally.

Wiki, Blog or Weebly?
Using a chalkboard or white board to teach the children in the classroom and have them learn something is that will be useful for them in the future. I believe using wiki is one great way to encourage the children to learn through technology especially when the generation x and y are digital natives because we were born into the world of technology!
I think with both wiki and blog you can add anything that will have children learning as long as it's safe and legal. Both are very similar in many ways!! Although I haven't done a lot of both wiki and blogs, I am finding blog more straightforward. Most are following blogs as there is more information on the blogs.Maybe it's a tool that most people, from any generation, are finding it simple. Wiki and blog,it's a great interaction among the students to share their thoughts about what we are discussing. Both gives us the opportunity to help each other learn!
Blogging,is more a diary or a journel for students to reflect on their class learning. For teachers, it's a great technology tool to use to expand the students learning by adding different links for the students to learn. Blogs is a place where other students and teachers can add comments to reflect on what they have learnt and how they can help each other expand their learning.
Wiki, I find you need the patience to find your way around before adding the information you want to add. You have the ability to create and edit a website of your choice that would help with learning. However, for other students to look onto the wiki page, they have the ability to to edit and change your website, therefore you would lose the information you have added.Wiki is a website to help teach others, a place where other students can help you learn.
I tried out what weebly website would be like and I found it dull. It's something that is quick and simple particularly for the younger age groups where they can play around on it and create their assignment simple! I haven't done too much to my weebly website but it shows I looked at it and explored what tools there is on weebly. I find weebly is more a place to add information that is related to a particular subject, it is more for teachers to use and have little interaction from students.

TPACK and Bloom's Taxonomy
I found TPACK and Bloom's Taxonomy a little confusing at times but what I understand I will blog about. I noticed in the tutorial when we discussed this topic, there were a few that needed more time to understand :)
TPACK
Working with 4 year olds, I wish I had other resources that I can use to encourage them to want to learn more about something we have a lot of interest about, let's say 'The solar system.' I believe if I had the knowledge to use the TPACK framework in my early childhood planning/programme, the children may have more interest. The reason I believe this may be the case, is because I would be able to give the children an opportunity to learn more through using different technology resources. I might have the ability to have the classroom environment more interesting where I would be sharing my knowledge on 'The solar system' and have the opportunity to expand the learning through practical knowledge by using various technology. It would give me a different approach on the learning style to the 4 year olds where I am teaching them through verbal and practical learning style which would make 'The solar system' more interesting and more about what's out there other then 'that's the moon because we see it at night time and that's the sun because we see it in the day time.'
Bloom's Taxonomy
Bloom's taxonomy simply means to classify and form a level of learning. Bloom's taxonomy is divided into 3 domanins; congnitive (knowing facts), affective (values) and psychomotor (attempt to complete). It's one of the best way to meet the needs of the students in the classroom to help them learn at the best of their ability. There are 6 levels known in Bloom's taxonomy, from lowest to highest, are: knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. It's an useful tool for teachers to help plan lessons for the classroom. A great way to teach a great lesson in the class for the students to adapt and learn without having difficulties understanding the lesson because the teacher will ensure every individual has their learning style method.
I see this a lot in my daily work where congitive is about knowledge, yes the kids may not want to listen but they are smart among other topics. Affective is how they are feeling among learning. Not all students want to learn and we can't reinforce them to learn but we give them the opportunity to be in the group and listen or not. Psychomotor is about physical so depending on their attitude to the learning they will somehow build their attitude to learn even if they don't want to.

Mobile Phones and DeBono Thinking Hats
Mobile Phones in classroom
Having a debate about using mobile phones in classrooms was really interesting. I thought there would be more disagreement among different generations but I found that almost everyone agreed on the topic. So I do believe mobile phones are a huge distraction in the classroom because once you have the 'beep' noise or someone laughing at a small screen, no one will want to learn! Maybe iPads are a better choice as far as using technology in the classroom but only if the students are using them for educational purpose. The social networking is popular these days and having access to mobile phones or iPads, you will have access to any of the social networks. I think technology is good to be used in the classroom but there need to be guidelines as to how we use them because I do believe in the future technology will be bigger then it is now, there will be no such thing as books and pens in the classroom.
Mobile phones have a lot of things that may be useful in the classroom. The mobile phone could be used in any particular subject such as maths (calculators),english (voice recorder, internet), sports (digital camera), music (digtal camera, voice recorder), the list goes on!
So like I mentioned, if there are guidelines as to using the iPads and mobile phones in the classroom for educational purpose, maybe there won't be a lot of distraction but I think any technology will be some kind of distraction to the class when learning. Believe me, I have 4 year olds bring in their toy mobile phone and it's a huge distraction to the group who are willing to learn!
Watch this link, you gives you a view of how students are using mobile phone and why it should be allowed in the classroom.
DeBono Thinking Hats
As far as I can remember, I have always used the thinking hats from primary to high school. I used to screw up my face everytime the teacher says, "Use the thinking hats." Why! As I got older, I learnt to understand how useful it is to have the thinking hats as a method that can be used to do a group brainstorming session. Even using it individually is awesome because the questions are there, you just need to use your mind to find the answer for each question relating to the topic that is being used. I find this ten times better then using the pros and cons table or using PMI. The DeBono has you thinking a lot and you record the thoughts and you see the outcome of the topic.
So would the DeBono Thinking Hats work for children of any age? Yes, I do believe it would because the children would be working together as a group! There would be many discussions among the group and there is no right or wrong answer because the children's thoughts are going to answer the question in one of the thinking hat, or more. I did some extra research on DeBono Thinking Hats and how teachers are teaching their class how to use the thinking hats and I notice there is no one way that everyone is doing it. Everyone is using the DeBono in a different way but still using the same colours and what it represent but not in the correct order as we used in wiki. Has anyone else notice this?

'Behaviourism' Learning Theory
What is behaviourism?
"Behaviorism (or behaviourism), also called the learning perspective (where any physical action is a behavior), is a philosophy of psychology based on the proposition that all things that organisms do—including acting, thinking and feeling—can and should be regarded as behaviors. The behaviorist school of thought maintains that behaviors as such can be described scientifically without recourse either to internal physiological events or to hypothetical constructs such as the mind.Behaviorism comprises the position that all theories should have observational correlates but that there are no philosophical differences between publicly observable processes (such as actions) and privately observable processes (such as thinking and feeling)."
I worked with Louise Back about discussing the PMI on 'Behaviourism' Learning Theory and due to our experiences in childcare, working with the preschoolers on a daily basic, doing the PMI was straightforward for us to work on.
When I saw this word, I thought yes it has something to do with behaviour but what possibly more could it mean! After reading the learning theory on behaviourism, I thought to myself, "I am dealing with this on a daily basis." You may read the learning theory and be unsure of what it means 'real life' but unless you have worked with children particularly in a childcare centre or school, you will know exactly what behaviourism means.
I have worked in childcare for 10 years, started in babies and slowly worked up into the preschool. Although Kindy and Preschool are my favourite age groups because they are independent and you can teach them something, it frustrates me a lot when they don't want to learn.
A lot of things I have tried to each children over the last 4 years, they listen then when you ask them the question, they go blank, "Ah hello is anyone home?" I would always wonder if there is a name to the attitude I was getting from the children and I learnt through the learning theory that its called 'the black box' in other words the child or children didn't want to learn more particularly if it's a popular interest in the room, let's say 'Ben 10'.
Thinking okay, yes they like 'Ben 10' but why aren't the children listening? In the learning theory I found that if you put forward to the children a huge bunch of information they don't want to know because it's all talk and too much listening. To have children show positive attitude to learning about 'Ben 10' you need to break the learning material into smaller piece of information by adding additional resources such as pictures then repeating it so we have the children's attention of showing they want to learn.
To have the positive attitude of the children wanting to participate in learning, they need something in return from the teacher. Giving children praises on anything the children may say whethere it's a question you ask and it's not close to the right answer, the children deserve to have some positive feedback from us so they know we (teachers) are acknowledging they are trying to learn in a positive way.
In my experience, I have found the learning theory a positive read and something that I can learn from and go okay, 'this is why I am not getting anywhere with the topic of 'Ben 10'. Taking the 'behaviourism theory' into consideration, I have changed my teaching plan with the 4 year olds and I have found a lot more achievement happening and learning for myself and the children is more fun!
So for the future children, I believe if we (teachers) like to have the learning class a positive outcome with little challenges from the children, I think we need to look at how we teach the children, how we respond to them on their learning ability, children wanting to try learn even if they're not on the right track.

· Classical conditioning is the process of reflex learning with positive reinforcement this occurs when a behaviour i.e. Doing homework is followed by a positive reward i.e. money this led to an increasing amount of homework being done.
· Operant conditioning can reinforce behaviours and is based on the increased probality of a behaviour based on reinforcement
· Operant conditioning can reinforce negative behaviours.
· Behaviours all ready in place by previous Classical and Operant conditioning.
· Involving children in the learning class and enforcing positive feedbacks to all children even if there are children with limited interest in learning and showing negative behaviour towards the topic.
· Giving children to be more involved in learning and teaching the topic by teacher asking them questions, not teacher asking the children questions.
· Praising the children as much as possible to allow them to know that they are trying their best and we knowledge them participating and trying hard to learn.
· Acknowledging the children doesn't show interest in learning unless it's fun and practical and full of feedback and praises from teachers.
· Children improving their skills in self-esteem and confident of learning.

Learning Styles Test
I was a little concerned about doing the test as I don't believe in these kind as they never seem to be accurate but then I thought about it and decided to give it a go. I was amazed with the results and thought to myself, I knew this my whole schooling life, why didn't we have this kind of test for the teachers to learn about us, to help how we can learn and achieve the best we possibly can. As I am hearing impaired and throughout my whole schooling, teachers tried to give me easy work because they thought I couldn't do it. They never spoke to me about allowing me to sit in a class and listening then discussing what I understood. As I got older, the teachers soon learnt that I can do anything I put my mind to but with a little adjustment, I passed with flying colours.
It might help you understand how you shouldn't judge a child by its disability or their confused face. :)
It might help you understand how you shouldn't judge a child by its disability or their confused face. :)
1. What is your learning style? What sorts of learning experiences would suit you best with your learning style? My learning style would be practical and lots of brainstorming from the children of what they about the topic, this way I am able to help them expand their learning by telling them what I understand or have the details of the topic being right. The children would have more confident to participate in brainstorming and practical activities where they do it the best way they know before a teacher saying something to them to help learn more. 2. In a traditional classroom of 25 students, how would you support the range of learning styles each lesson? I would teach the children various topics through real life and facts as the children would be able to experience it and have more interest of wanting to learn. Theories wouldn't be interesting as it would be a long lesson for them to sit and listen. 3. With your current knowledge of ICT, how could your design and digital pedagogy support your learners better? Allowing the children to be more independent and willing to learn while interacting with each children one on one. 4. What sorts of profiling questions would you be asking about your learners to ensure you cater for everyone's preferences? How do you want to learn about something? Visual, verbal, graphs? How do you find working alone or in small groups? What reaction will I get if I say we will learning verbal when we have the opportunity to learn another way such as practical? 5. How does ICT support differences in learning styles? Using different learning styles that each child is able to understand the learning topic. Using one learning style and hoping every child understands what it is about, there is a little chance that is going to happen. |
What's that saying about being 'first timers'...
Ah getting a little side track here...forget the quote! Blogging, wow, I never thought I would be blogging especially for university life! I am slowly learning after two nights but I think the best way to do it, is to have no distraction, whatsoever! I think blogging will be interesting and fun because I will be learning more about technology, can't seem to keep up! The 21st century is always changing and I think it will be a good thing that technology is changing because nothing stays the same!
As I work in a child care centre, I try to teach the children new technology and most of the time, I teach them and something better comes out! Argh!! It's fun that I teach the children about new technology because I am learning as well! I don't think I will be teaching the children about facebook and blogging anytime soon!
Wiki is a little confusing but I am slowly getting there with some patience. At the moment, I am enjoying the subject of Managing E-Learning especially when it is so well organised!! And I love being organised and on track!
Good luck! :)
