Mind Maps
The readings I did on mind maps from the moodle and following the links of two mind map tools http://www.text2mindmap.com and https://www.bubbl.us/ I didn't find many useful information about what mind maps are really about. I decided to do extra research on the topic which I found useful.
Mind maps are a tool that helps you think and learn. You focus on a particular subject and slowly you brainstorm the subject by adding words and branches to the middle or main word. Mind map is a diagram that is useful for students to understand ways of brainstorming as a group. Mind map is a tool that helps student expand their knowledge by adding old or new information into the map relating to the particular subject.
The mind map tools are filled with colours, shapes and words that link up together into a tree. It makes the mind map activity more exciting and interesting because it isn't dull. The mind map makes learning more exciting and using diagrams that is bright and colourful, students would find it more inviting and wanting to learn about the particular subject. Mind map tools allow you to add different images to create the map more exciting and focus more on the particular subject other then what is around it, the words!
I found using the bubbl mind map, I found more exciting because you create your mind map very colourful, it was easy to access. Text2mind mind map, I found very dull and frustrating. Overall, both mind map tools were very time wasting. I would have preferred to have A3 paper and lots of colourful felt pens that would have allowed me to fast track my brainstorming activity and being able to focus more on the subject rather then wasting time with creating the mind map digitally.
